Memory-Chip Makers Ask For Delay In Rambus Patent Trial #fb

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)–Micron Technology Inc. (MU) and other memory-chip makers asked a California court to delay a patent-infringement trial versus Rambus Inc. (RMBS) to wait for decisions in related appeals.

Rambus, of Sunnyvale, Calif., licenses patented technology that is used to accelerate the performance of memory chips, including products known as dynamic random-access memory, or DRAM, chips that are a mainstay of personal computers. Its history has been marked by litigation against companies that don’t license its patents, including Micron, Hynix Semiconductor Inc. (HXSCF) and Nanya Technology Corp. (2408.TW) in the current case.
